Dell FX2 Modular Storage Blocks
Dell Inc. recently introduced three new modules to its PowerEdge FX Portfolio: the FC430, FD332, and FC830. These modules are part of Dell’s next generation converged infrastructure lineup, aimed at delivering powerful computing capabilities in compact and scalable packages.
The FC430 is a quarter-width, half-height server block ideal for mainstream enterprise workloads, distributed environments needing high reliability, HPC, and high-frequency trading. It features Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3 processors, supports up to 256GB of DDR4 memory, and accommodates up to 2 x 1.8” SSDs. With up to 8 FC430s fitting into a single 2U PowerEdge enclosure, it offers significant processing capacity.
The FD332, a half-width storage block, enables dense and flexible scale-out solutions. It supports up to 16 Small Form Factor Drives (SSD or HDD, SATA or SAS) and includes options for single or dual PERC RAID controllers. It allows combining servers and storage, supporting configurations with up to 3 FD332 blocks per PowerEdge FX2 chassis.
The FC830, a full-width, half-height 4-socket server block, caters to large-scale virtualization and database-driven applications in midsize and large enterprises. It features four next-gen Intel Xeon processors, supports up to 3TB of memory, and provides extensive storage options with support for Express Flash NVMe PCIe SSDs. It includes 8 PCIe expansion slots and dual-port 10Gb networking for high-performance computing environments.
These additions to the PowerEdge FX Portfolio enhance Dell’s offerings in converged infrastructure, providing customers with enhanced flexibility, scalability, and performance across various computing environments.
