With Linear Tape File System (LTFS), it\u2019s easier to view, archive and share your files than ever before<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Such a cartridge is called an \u201cLTO-7 cartridge initialized as Type M media\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are some key features that make it straightforward to recognise LTO-7 Type M media:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>LTO-7 Type M media can be created and subsequently recognized by the use of an automation barcode label ending with the last 2 characters \u201cM8\u201d.<\/li><li>Only new, unused LTO-7 cartridges may be initialized as LTO-7 Type M media.
