Scenario: The controller has a bad battery and we have a replacement.  We just need to know the process of sticking it in it.  The controller with the bad battery is the secondary non-active controller right now.

Do I need to backup settings from the old controller or will the settings auto populate when I plug it in?  Will I first have to update the firmware.?

Tekmart Enterprise Support Answer:

There’s not need to back up anything, all configuration info is stored on the RAIDset.

All that’s required is to remove the network cables, remove the controller.  Take the SD flash card from the old one and install it in the new CM.   That’s what contains the array firmware.

Insert the new CM and re-cable it.   Check the GUI to insure the controller is online and in-sync with the primary CM.

Done !!
