Our new online store: what's changed for Tekmart customers

If you've ordered from us before, you may have noticed that tekmart.co.za looks different. On 26 October 2026 we moved our online store from Zen Cart, which had run it for a number of years, to new store software. Here's what that means for you.

What's better

Finding the right part

• Search that narrows down fast. Search by part number, model or brand, then filter by category and price range. Sort by newest, price, bestsellers, top rated or biggest savings, and switch between grid and list view.
• The details you need on every product. Part number, alternative part numbers, model number, full specs, condition, compatible systems and warranty, all on one page.
• Live stock. Each product shows how many we have in stock right now, so you know before you order.
• Compare side by side. Pick up to four products and compare them, which helps when two drives or controllers differ by one spec.

Prices and deals

• Prices include VAT, and sale prices show what you save and when the sale ends.
• Price-drop alerts. On any product, tap Tell me if the price drops and we'll email you once when it does.
• Daily deals and our Bargain Basket of end-of-life enterprise parts, all in one place.
• Prices in your currency. Buying from Botswana, Namibia, Kenya, Zambia or further afield? Show prices in your own currency as a guide. You still pay in rand.

Ordering and delivery

• Pay your way: Visa, Mastercard, Instant EFT, PayFast or bank EFT, through a secure checkout.
• Free collection from our store, or courier delivery.
• Track your parcel. Every order has its own page with its status and invoice, so your accounts department can find what they need without phoning us. One tap opens the courier's tracking.
• A wishlist and your full order history in your account, including the orders you placed on our old store.

Faster pages, on any screen. The store loads quickly on a phone in a server room or a laptop in the office, so checking a part number on site is quicker.

Why we changed

Zen Cart served us well, but it's old software. Keeping it secure and up to date took more of our time each year, and adding the things our customers asked for was slow. We wanted a store built for South African businesses that we own outright, without monthly platform fees or a foreign subscription that changes price with the exchange rate.

We chose SaleCart, South African online store software that is bought once and hosted on our own server. Our web host, Afriweb, set it up and moved our products, customers and orders across.

Something not working?

Moving a store with thousands of products and years of orders is a big job, and we've checked it carefully. If a link from an old email or bookmark doesn't work, a part looks wrong, or your order history is missing something, please tell us at ccare@tekmart.co.za or 0861 711 712 and we'll fix it the same day.
