I ordered this drive for use in a server initially. I ended up using it on a desktop computer. Great drive though but a waste to use it on a computer. Most SATA hard drives are compatible with all desktop computers. This Dell drive is not specific to a computer; you just need to format it and install it in any computer that utilize SATA drives. The read / write is quite sufficient for data and backups. Well its been an year now and it is still going strong. The high pricing could be due to the fact it is Dell branded but its just a Seagate manufactured drive.
