:: Once the adapter model is identified, find out what kind of storage devices are going to be supported. Each of these devices will have support matrices showing which adapters are supported with what firmware/driver/operating system/patch combination.
:: Look for any references to the HP adapter models, as HP will support their own firmware and drivers. If no HP adapter models are referenced, see if their OEM equivalent is represented in the matrix.
:: Do not presume that any OEM firmware or drivers will work with an HP adapter. HP does not support third-party firmware updates unless documented otherwise or confirmed with the HP Solution Center or HP Competency Center.
