Key points to note on these 660093-001 HPE FBWC Capacitor Packs :-

The Flash Backed Write Cache (FBWC) uses NAND 6 flash devices to retain cache data and super-capacitors (super-caps) instead of batteries to provide power during a power loss.

The FBWC offers significant advantages over the HP Battery-Backed Write-Cache (BBWC) system.

Since the FBWC writes the contents of memory to flash devices, there is no longer a 48-hour battery life limitation and the data will be posted to the disk drive on the next power up.

This was cheap and convenient. It a was an issue to dig the cables out of the interior cable trough though and then get the new one into the same place. But it's easy to do, and the result is worth the effort. Real plug-n-play problem solver- preserves your RAID array data incase of a power failure. Works very well, my server is much happier and file transfers and backups run much faster than without this addition. Would recommend this addition as an extra buffer especially if you have set-up RAID on your server.

At least a supplier who has parts in stock with same day delivery in Johannesburg. I bought this together with one for a Dl360 server and both are working fine in the servers. You guys are a life saver, thank you for the quick service.
