Finisar’s FCLF-8520/8521-3 1000BASE-T Copper SFP transceivers comply with the SFP Multi-Source Agreement (MSA) and IEEE 802.3 Gigabit Ethernet standards. They provide I²C access to the 1000BASE-T PHY layer, enabling full control over settings and diagnostics. The FCLF-8520-3 uses the RX_LOS pin for link indication and requires 1000BASE-X auto-negotiation to be disabled on the host system. In contrast, the FCLF-8521-3 supports 1000BASE-X auto-negotiation but lacks link indication, as its RX_LOS pin is internally grounded.
