This is an awesome add on card and cable kit. The HBA card itself works with both SATA and SAS drives. The cables however will only work with SATA drives. I had ran out of connections so i used the second cable and with both installed, i've finally got enough ports for my NAS needs. One splitter cable supported 4 drives. Adding the second splitter i'm now able to expand to 8 drives. Can't complain. Didn't need to flash the card-it came in IT mode as per the listing. Price was ok and was delivered on time. Get one and you won't regret it.
