We lost RAID on my DL360 G6. The battery connected to our P410 raid controller suddenly started flashing amber. This made the integrated P410i RAID controller go into failsafe mode and completely disabled the write caching. You re-enable write caching when you replace this battery. In my case, I powered down the server, plugged in the battery we received, tucked the cable out of the way to avoid interfering with air flow in the server and placed the battery on top of the air baffle. On powering my server I didn't even need to recharge the battery, it was already fully charged and the P410i recognised the newly connected battery and enabled full write caching without any BIOS tweaks. For legacy batteries this old, and to be functional, this was a great buy and even greater support from the support team who calmly walked me through this and explained what had happened and what I nedded to do to fix the issue. Thank you.
