5 of 5 Stars Good choice for low-end internal storage, like home NAS with gigabit connections. Generally, for file systems like ZFS you won't need HW RAID, HBA is a good option. The card is by default in in IT mode already which is great because you do not have to flash it. It is configured for passthrough so the drives can be seen independently. You can connect it to drive enclosures that support SAS. Large enclosures will handle many drives and then if supported by the enclosure, multiple enclosures can be chained together for even more capacity. Just make sure to enable the controller's BIOS. Used these HBAs on HP DL380 G7 servers to connect to some HP StorageWorks D2600 enclosures at work. Works great. Great card.
