I noticed one fan in our DL360 G8 was not spinning (visually inspected it and also confirmed in the iLo console). Our IT support confirmed that this fan that was on the way out. I ordered this fan replacement from Tekmart and popped it in and things have been quiet for a few weeks now. As a protection mechanism, when a fan dies the remaining fans crank up their speed to ~100% to compensate. This screaming noise of all the fans cranking was the clue to me that something was wrong. I was right. The replacement seems to have sorted out the noise issue.
