This will allow a 2.5-inch drive (like this SKU:2TRM4), to be installed into a server bay designed for a larger 3.5-inch drive. We call these 2.5-inch to 3.5-inch drive adapters or hybrid caddies/trays.
Requires an LFF cadyy and an adapter-this will be a piece of plastic or metal that screws onto your 2.5-inch drive, making it physically the same size and with the same mounting points as a 3.5-inch drive. Crucially, it also positions the 2.5-inch drive's connector correctly so it aligns with the backplane connector in the 3.5-inch bay.
