I love Supermicro Products - but I think its always best to buy ready-built servers rather than barebone. These boards tend to be very specific about RAM. By the way, memory slot populating with fewer than 8 sticks is tricky; the system manual suggestion for which slots to populate resulted in it refusing to post. Also, if you. only have 1 or 2 memory modules, you can't just throw them in any random memory slot and get it to post. These boards are very particular and more so when they are dual-processor capable.
